Dont go blank...Check the receipt

One day Peter and John were on their way to the temple and they saw a beggar asking for Alms. Rather than give him money, they decided to do this instead.
Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

What informed their decision ? How did they know they had the power to do that? They checked their receipt. They had just been given something (power after the Holy Spirit came upon them) and when they realized what they had, they knew what they could offer to the situation at hand. When every one was in shock this was Peter's response.

Acts 3:12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

They knew where the power came from because it had been clearly spelt out earlier. Jesus already told them they would recieve power Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth

Peter & John were not hoping, they were acting in faith. The knew what they had received. They were working based on what they had been given, Jesus had paid the price for them and they knew that 'healing the sick and raising the dead' was a part of what he paid for. They knew what they had received.

Jesus also was very aware of what was written about him.

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me....

How aware are we of what has been bought for us? Jesus Paid for our sin & bought us salvation. We know that but what does that cover? If there was a receipt booklet with all the things contained in salvation, what would be on the receipt?

When last did we look into scripture to know what was available for our situation. Receipts can fade with time and we forget what we bought. Sometimes we struggle to buy something we already have because we forget it is in our cupboard. One way to prevent ourselves from feeling like victims or from being victims is to check THE Receipt. (Gods Word). That way we can stand on our rights as Children of God and we can use what we already have.

For example do you remember the Bible says:
The Lord will help me and I will not be ashamed (Isaiah 50:7)
OR
There shall no evil befall you neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling (Isaiah 91)
OR
Let he who lacks wisdom ask God who gives freely
OR
He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. (Psalm 91:4)

The list of blessings is actually endless. When last did we pray these scriptures over our situations? What about YOU SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER. When every trouble comes your way, DONT GO BLANK...Check your receipt.

There is so much for the believer in Gods salvation Covenant but FAITH comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Read your Bible and everyday, check your receipt, use it when you pray.
Commune with the Holy spirit everyday and all the way.

Know what you have or someone will make you into what you are not.

God Bless
